Total Choice Chia Meatballs

Enjoy this Italian-inspired classic with a healthy twist. These meatballs are full of flavor and contain less fat, calories and carbohyrates than the traditional dish. 1 cup Nonalcoholic red wine (grape juice, or red wine)
2 tbsp Fresh garlic (minced)
2 tbsp Chia seed
1 tbsp Fennel seed
1/4 tsp Dried basil
1/4 tsp Dried oregano
1/4 tsp Dried thyme
1/4 tsp Ground black pepepr
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsley
2 Egg whites
3/4 cup Ground whole-wheat bread crumbs
2 lbs 99% lean ground turkey breast

In a large bowl, combine liquid, garlic and chia seed. Set aside and allow chia seed to swell for 15 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Spoon and roll into 1-oz. balls and place on nonstick baking sheet or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.

Remove and serve or allow to cool and refrigerate.
