Sweet Potato Casserole

The sweet potatoes and cinnamon in this casserole help with regulating blood sugar levels, which can ultimately help burn dangerous belly fat.

1/4 cup Chopped pecans
6 tbsp Maple syrup
1/4 tsp Orange zest
2 tsp Ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Large sweet potatoes (baked)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Slightly toast the pecans on a baking sheet.

In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Bring to simmer before removing from heat.

Scoop out insides of the baked sweet potatoes, and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Using a potato masher or large fork, mash until there are no lumps left. Heat in microwave on high for 3 minutes.

Pour the syrup over the mashed sweet potatoes, and top with the toasted pecans. Serve immediately.
