Spiced and Roasted Chickpeas

Opting for chickpeas over snack foods high in saturated fat can help lower your risk of cardiovascular disease. This legume is a rich source of fiber that helps to control blood sugar levels so you won't experience the fatigue and irritation from a blood sugar crash. Chickpeas also make you feel more full and curb food cravings. Make sure to add plenty of spices to give this snack an extra kick.

1/2 can Garbanzo beans
2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
Cumin (to taste)
Paprika (to taste)
Garlic (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Place garbanzo beans in bowl. Add olive oil and spices, stir.

Spread the coated beans on a foil lined tray.

Bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until crisp.
