sofrito recipe

Sofrito is a Puerto Rican staple — and for good reason. This condiment is free of tomato and salt, keeping it low in sodium, and the garlic and onion in this flavorful condiment make it really beneficial for your health. In fact, according to Sept. 2019 study published in Science Daily, women who ate sofrito more than once per day had a 67 percent reduced risk of breast cancer. Those numbers are too big to ignore. Besides the fact that it's easy to make, it's the perfect way to infuse some delicious Puerto Rican flavor into any dish you're making.
