An excellent source of vitamin C, turnips are delicious when baked. Try these spiced turnip fries from celebrity chef Sam Talbot that are baked, not fried, to perfection. Enjoy them as a snack, dipped in tartar sauce, or as a side dish next to battered cod for a healthy fish and chips dinner.

1 lb Turnips
1 tbsp Coconut oil or olive oil
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
1/4 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Garlic powder
1/4 tsp Dried parsley

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Peel turnips and cut into 0.5 inch sticks.

Place the turnips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Coat turnips with coconut oil (or olive oil) and spices, making sure turnips are tossed well. Spread turnips in single layer over the baking sheet.

Bake for 30 minutes, flipping turnips at 15 minutes.

Increase heat to 450°F and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove and serve immediately.
