Chicken Sausage and Kale Stir-Fry

The ketogenic diet — or keto diet — features low-carb, high-fat foods. Eating this way is intended to send your body into ketosis, a metabolic state where fat gets burned for fuel. With its use of high-fat foods like butter, cheese, and avocado, this stir-fry recipe from fitness trainer Drew Manning is a perfect way to try out the keto diet.

2 organic chicken sausages (1 for women), sliced
1 handful of kale (or spinach), chopped
1 tbsp grass-fed butter
1 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
1/2 avocado, sliced

1. Stir-fry the sausage and the kale (or spinach) in a skillet with the butter. Let cook for approximately 5 minutes, constantly stirring. 


2. Turn the heat off and add in the mozzarella and let it melt before serving. 


3. Top with 1/2 avocado and enjoy!
