There are so many delicious ways to prepare and use popcorn. Chef Matt Abdoo has this recipe for parmesan garlic croutons that use popped popcorn for a savory and crunchy topping for any salad or dish.
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl toss the popcorn with the egg white so that all the popcorn has a light coating of egg white. Mix in the parmesan, kosher salt and garlic.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the popcorn mix in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes, giving it a stir every 15 minutes.
Remove the tray from the oven and allow the popcorn to cool to room temperature. Once the popcorn cools it will become crunchy and ready to use to garnish your favorite salads or soups.
