Hibiscus Tea Marinade

Hibiscus has been used to treat high blood pressure in both African and Asian traditional medicine. Recent studies show that hibiscus tea can lower blood pressure as effectively as some standard hypertension drugs can.

1 quart Strong brewed hibiscus tea
1 Fresno chile (pepper and halved)
2 Limes (juiced)
3-4 cloves Garlic (smashed)
Salt and sugar (to taste)
Place all ingredients in a medium saucepot, bring to a simmer and turn off heat. Let steep until the mixture is cool and then strain.
Use this as a marinade for pork or chicken. Let the protein sit in the marinade overnight, remove, pat dry, season and cook accordingly.
