Turmeric is helpful for a healthy brain. Get creative with this spice and incorporate it into your breakfast by mixing it with milk and oats. This recipe from chef Nikki Dinki is not only delicious but is a great grab-and-go option in the morning (that will boost your memory, too).
3/4 cup Almond milk
2 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Ground turmeric
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Ground ginger
1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
pinch of Kosher salt
1/3 cup Blueberries
2 tbsp Walnuts (coarsely chopped)
1 tbsp Chia seeds
Dollop of plain Greek yogurt (optional)
Combine oats, almond milk, honey, turmeric, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, and salt in a jar (or bowl). Shake vigorously to combine (or stir well).
Leave in the fridge overnight for at least 2 hours.
Before serving, top oats with the blueberries, walnuts, chia seeds, and yogurt, if desired (the yogurt can also be added the night before).
