Avoid Whitefish Sushi

Be very wary if you spot whitefish sushi, especially any labeled as white tuna, in a supermarket display case. According to a recent four-year study, almost half of all sushi available for purchase in restaurants was mislabeled, and the same goes for supermarket sushi. Any sushi advertised as white tuna is most likely escolar, a fish that can cause gastrointestinal discomfort when consumed and is also known as the “Ex Lax” fish due to its reputation.
