The Disease- and Age-Proof Regimen

Did you know that in many cases, you can regrow brain cells? That’s right—even though many factors can deplete your brain cells, it’s also possible for the brain to generate new cells and regain brain function. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help especially when you eat nutrient-dense food, exercise regularly, stick to a healthy sleep schedule, and take steps to minimize your stress. As part of The Regimen, take the brain quiz to see if your brain needs a clarity or memory boost, or if you need to focus on stress relief. Once you’ve determined what your brain needs, follow this regimen add-on to protect your brain as you age. Take your customized Regimen plan on the go with the official Dr. Oz app.

Cocoa flavanols are compounds in chocolate and have been shown to improve thinking ability in healthy older adults. To get the benefits of these compounds, look for dark chocolate with at least 70 percent cacao content, raw cacao powder, or unsweetened cocoa powder at your local supermarket and incorporate it into your diet. An easy way to make these powders palatable is to enjoy it in homemade chocolate milk. Since these types of powder taste bitter, you can mix 2 tablespoons of either powder to unsweetened almond milk and sweeten it with a little stevia. Avoid using sugar because it can counter the effects of the cocoa. Get more healthy chocolate recipes here.
