Children’s bowel movements vary in frequency, but should always come out smoothly, without excessive pain or strain. An all-natural constipation solution that is both effective and your kids will love is the CRAP diet. “CRAP” stands for four excellent sources of fiber: Cherries, Raisins, Apricots, Prunes. A diet rich in any fruits, vegetables and whole grains is a great way to decrease constipation and prevent it in the future. Your child should be getting at least one and a half cups of both fruits and vegetables every day. Also make sure your child gets plenty of fluids, since dehydration can also contribute to constipation. If your child has been constipated for two weeks or more, or changing their diet doesn’t help, consult your pediatrician.
