Shin Splints

If you experience pain, tenderness, or soreness along your shinbone (tibia) while you’re running you could have shin splints. This common running injury is caused by many factors like increased level of activity, running on a new surface, and whether you have flat feet or high arches.

You can usually treat shin splints yourself by resting, icing the effected area, and taking over-the-counter pain reliever. Contact your doctor if your symptoms are concerning.
