Swap Brown Rice for White Basmati Rice
While many of us assume that brown rice is the healthier choice, as it turns out white basmati rice has 80 times less arsenic than its counterpart. As Asprey explains, white rice is better tasting and less likely to bloat you, since the outer layer of brown rice irritates the gut which is what causes the bloat to begin with. He says we should look at rice as a starch, rather than a source of fiber, relying on vegetables for our daily fiber requirements instead.
