Step 3: Follow the 80-10-10 Rule

Carbohydrates can be a major problem when they come from processed foods in the form of simple sugars. But there are a lot of carbohydrates, like fiber, that are actually really good for you. Marco recommends following the 80-10-10 rule, where 80% of your calories come from carbs, with protein and fats each contributing 10%. The key to making this work is the source of your carbs. They should come from fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts. Steer clear of processed foods as the source of your carbohydrates.
