Find out which fast food items are the healthiest.
According to a Gallup poll that looked into the eating habits of 2,027 adults throughout the United States, 8 out of 10 Americans eat fast food once a month, and 47% of Americans eat fast food once a week. With numbers these high, it's important to find out which restaurants are serving the healthiest options so consumers can make educated choices when they eat out. According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, a lot of fast food gets absorbed too quickly in the body, has excess salt and sugar, and is made up of synthetic ingredients. If you want to keep fast food meals in your diet, make sure to do it the right way by following Dr. Oz's healthy criteria.
Using Dr. Oz's criteria, the healthiest meals have to be 400 calories or less, 15 grams of fat or less, high in protein, and flavorful as well. While this may seem like a tall order, more and more restaurants are offering lightened-up options on their menus these days. After trying a variety of different meals, these are the three that made the cut.
