Take the mid-afternoon to prep whatever you’re bringing to the party. Integrative Woman’s Health expert Dr. Aviva Romm recommends calling your host the week before to ask if you can bring anything that will meet your health needs (gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, etc.). If you are bringing dessert specifically, nutritionist Kristin Kirkpatrick recommends buying it instead of making it so you don’t have to waste your calories eating cookie dough, brownie batter, pie filling, and other unhealthy sugary things.
