Researchers have found that both soluble and insoluble fiber may reduce the risk of breast cancer, especially for women consuming upwards of 30 grams a day. In one large study, women who ate a high-fiber diet (38-77 grams per day) had a greater than 20 percent reduction in their risk of ovarian cancer, when compared to women who consumed low-fiber diets.
