Butter Croutons

Your salads, soups, and stews are about to get a major upgrade with these warm, buttery croutons. Not only are they easy to make, but with the perfect combination of chewy and crispy textures, you’ll never want to go with store-bought ones again.

6 slices Hearty white sandwich bread (crusts removed, cut into ½-inch cubes about 3 cups)
Salt and pepper
3 tbsp Unsalted butter (melted)

Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine bread cubes and salt and pepper to taste in medium bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and toss well using rubber spatula to combine.

Spread bread cubes in single layer on rimmed baking sheet or in shallow baking dish. Bake croutons until golden brown and crisp, 8 to 10 minutes, stirring halfway through baking. Let cool on baking sheet to room temperature. Sprinkle croutons over broccoli-cheese soup, or your favorite soup recipe. (Croutons can be stored in airtight container for up to 3 days).
