The Skinny on Steve

You’ve followed him, wished him well, and hoped that he’d be successful in his quest towards optimal health. Our Unhealthiest American has had his ups and downs and because of this, you may have thought, “Hey, that guy is like me...Go, Steve, Go!” However, on his last update you saw that Steve is moving slower than we’d hoped or planned.

Well, I’m happy to report that Steve is back on track. Although he has been smoke-free for 5 months now (a HUGE accomplishment) his weight loss and exercise goals have not yet been met. Steve and I are going to jumpstart his eating habits again and I know that when the second season of The Dr. Oz Show airs next fall, Steve will (physically) be fraction of his former self.

See…the issue lies in admitting that you’ve struggled and then getting back on track. Many of us don’t admit we’ve fallen off the wagon; it’s simply easier to make an excuse about why it happened. And it’s usually never our fault, is it? That, in turn makes it easy to continue unhealthy habits. It’s not your husband’s fault, sister’s fault, boss’s fault, etc. It has to come back to YOU because at the end of the day it is YOU that must make the change and it is YOU that has to live with your health. Look deep within yourself – stop making excuses and start making steps! Steve had over 10,000 the other day...Go, Steve, Go!
