The Betty Ford Center believes strongly that addiction treatment is not a public event. We take Federal confidentiality laws and the importance of privacy for each patient very seriously. Treatment for such a complex, serious disease is complicated enough without revealing yourself at such a vulnerable time to the public. Even if every patient at the Betty Ford Center signed a statement waiving their right to privacy, we would never allow cameras to invade what is hopefully a lifesaving treatment experience.
