Chris Powell’s 3-Day Flush Plan

Chris Powell shares his strategy for undoing the damage caused by over-eating.

You can’t turn back time, undo a binge, and remove the calories you've already consumed. Those calories have already found a place to live on your body. But with this 3-Day Flush Day Plan, from you’ll reduce the damage caused by over-eating, and get your body — and your eating habits — back on track. Chris Powell, a trainer and author of Extreme Transformation: Lifelong Weight Loss in 21 Days and Choose More Lose More, for Life, shares his three-day post-binge strategy.

When to Start the 3-Day Flush Plan

After a binge, your body will react for three days. That means if you overeat on Saturday, your scale will continue to go up until Monday. On Tuesday, the numbers on the scale will begin to come back down. Start this plan the morning after you over-indulge. This plan will give you back all the essential nutrients and vitamins you need to get your body going again.

What to Eat During the 3-Day Plan, and When

Morning tea, starting at 7 a.m. Start your morning by mixing up a gallon of water with a mixture of dandelion root tea and green tea. Dandelion root will help improve your digestion while also easing the bloat. The green tea provides caffeine to kick off your morning — and keep you going until breakfast. Carry around this drink all day long; whenever you’re hungry, have a sip! Get the recipe for Chris Powell's dandelion root and green tea

Snack time: Both your mid-morning and your afternoon snack should be in the liquid form, as with a spinach-based shake, which has protein, fat, and vegetables. Get the recipe for the Popeye Shake.

Lunch and dinner: Make sure these two meals are both high protein, with plenty of healthy fats and veggies. Both meals should contain asparagus, which is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, and will help get rid of bloat. As well, asparagus is high in vitamins A, B, C, E and K, and rich in fiber. Powell recommends these meals for either lunch or dinnertime:
