If you or someone you know has been a victim of abuse or sexual assault, use these resources for help.

The following are programs that provide telephone assistance for those who have been or are in the midst of a crisis:

The National Domestic Violence Hotline

The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides victims of domestic violence with the resources they need to find safety and live free of abuse. The hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in more than 170 different languages. Call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for assistance.


RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is an anti-sexual violence organization that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is partnered with more than 1,000 sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the Department of Defense Helpline. Call 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) for assistance.

Stalking Resource Center

If you are being or have been stalked, the Stalking Resource Center can help with resources for victims as well as safety precautions. The purpose of this website is to effectively respond to stalking.  

Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline

The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline is an organization that provides 24/7 assistance by phone in more than 170 languages. The hotline offers crisis prevention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. Call 1-800-4-A-Child (422-4453) for assistance.

National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline

The National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline provides 24/7 telephone assistance to teenagers seeking help for themselves or a loved one who is in an abusive relationship. Not only can teenagers call to talk, they can chat online or even text a trained professional. The program also provides a wealth of online resources for teenagers to learn more about abusive relationships. Call1-866-331-9474 or text LOVEIS to 22522 for assistance.

Saving Promise

Saving Promise is a Washington, DC–based national nonprofit that aims to decrease intimate partner violence in America. Through its triple strategy of awareness, prevention, and community mobilization, the organization is able to effectively address this national crisis.
